Great Product for Hard water Hair

Wednesday, October 16, 2013

New favorite shampoo and conditioner. I have hardwater at my house. Like rotten egg sulfur grossness and it dries the crap out of my hair and makes it look dull and yucky. A co-worker of mine who does not have hardwater at her house suggested this product and I had to try it. She said it wasn't drying and was amazing....and well, it is! You can order it here:  http://www.malibuc.com/products/cn/9612/Hard-Water-Wellness-Kit

Mixing it up Monday

Monday, June 3, 2013

Helllooo!! <--- That was in my best Mrs. Doubtfire voice by the way.
Yes, yes. It has been awhile ol' chum. I bet you've been wondering for weeks what to do without me. ;)
Between work, Internet problems, almost running over my data usage limit, vacation, life stresses, and being a mom, I have forgotten to do something I really love to do, which is blog, so prepare yourself for blog post overload!! We've got a lot of catching up to do!
First things first, it is save your money Monday so that's what this blog post is going to cover, except this is a first impression review as well. With that being said, I was running late for work and may be judging it harshly.
But here it goes, we have So Gorgeous Volumizing Root Mousse from Sally's Beauty Supply and in all fairness, I am pretty sure I used it incorrectly. I was going for a spray and go mousse. I sprayed and it went.........everywhere.
It was like a winter wonderland in my bathroom!!!! The kind where you look in awe at your walls, mirrors, countertops and ceiling. How did that get up there?
It was the kind of mess where you don't have time for it and you dread the clean up that will follow.
But to be fair had I had time to read the directions, it says to squirt in hand and work through hair and style. Yep, I definitely skipped that step. But, my biggest complaint is it smells more like a product I would use to clean my bathroom (like scrubbing bubbles) than something for my hair. Yuck!
Maybe I am being mean, but I wasn't really sold on this product mostly because of the smell. My recommendation is to spend the extra $10-12 and get some Big Sexy Hair Root Pump Spray Mousse, because it works great and smells amazing.

Ion Moisture Solutions

Wednesday, May 1, 2013

Last week, I wrote about another Ion leave-in conditioner that I love from Ion, but this one is a different story. This is Ion Moisture Solutions Intense Hydration Leave-in conditioner. It is definitely not a spray and go product. It is heavy and feels like you are spraying lotion into your hair, so if you choose to use it apply it to damp hair and carefully work into hair for best results.

Ion Anti- Frizz Solutions

Friday, April 26, 2013

I bought this in a travel size. It is Ion Anti-Frizz Solutions Lightweight moisture and detangling Leave-in conditioner. I will definitely be repurchasing in a big bottle. It has an awesome sent, kind of sweet like cotton candy but very light. It works great to detangle my curls. I bought this at Sally's Beauty Supply. Great stuff.

For you Noodle Heads

Monday, April 15, 2013

If you have curly hair, then you know how expensive and hard it can be to find good products that work. Most of the time I opt to use Sexy Curly Hair products. They smell good and most of them work great. But, I have been on a "try new things kick", so I bought some new products and I love them.
The first is called Beach Babe Texturizing Sea Salt Spray by Not Your Mother's. Smells of coconut. Very beachy. You can use it on damp or dry hair. It works best on damp and it creates loose, soft curls. I found my bottle at CVS. Just as the bottle claims you can have sexy tousled waves for that just came from the beach relaxed look. A perfect product for summer.
The second product, I found at Sally's Beauty Supply and decided to give it a try because Beyond the Zone was on sale and I couldn't pass up such a deal. I picked out Noodle Head Tame Your Curls flawless hair with saucy style. A firm hold curling mousse. I was not expecting a lot from this product, but was so surprised. I love how it makes my curls look.
I attached a picture of my hair on a day I used nothing but these two products on my hair. It was taken at the end of the day so my hair had lost some of the curl, but you get the point.
Noodle heads, try these out. Save some cash and your hair.
And I realize, I sound like an infomercial, but trust me, no one is paying me for my opinion.

Redken Pre Art Clarifying Treatment

Wednesday, April 3, 2013

My professional hair stylist/beautician/ I never know what the right term is had me try a new clarifying treatment. It is suppose to remove hair product build up along with minerals caused from hard water. I have really bad well water so I was super excited when I read about demineralizing treatments. This one you put on damp hair, leave on 5-10 minutes. If build up is bad use cap and heat. I used the cap but no heat and left it on ten minutes. It smelled good. I rinsed with bottled water. The biggest difference was how different my hair felt. It felt so soft and it looked a little shiner. Not sure how often I should use it. We are still researching that, but off of first impressions, I was super happy with it.
